Fantastic tour of the distillery. Very informative and hospitable guide Ronnie. Shown all areas and aspects of the distillery and given a thorough overview of the rich history. Tour included two sampled of the whisky with plenty available in the shop including miniatures and half bottles.
Accessibility was great and well thought out. Ramps and lifts available in all places needed with most facilities being ground floor.
Dog friendly Lindores Abbey Whiskey Distillery is incredible and well worth the visit!!
We are staying at Duns on Holiday from Norfolk, and we went here due to being dog friendly.
Staff were very friendly and approachable on our arrival. We booked our tickets in store. £15 per adult for the tour or free to look around the shop.
We were early, so we had a walk around the Abbey having a read of the books and information in the Abbey and a look at the shop. We also had a drink whilst we waited for the tour.
The tour guide Helen was knowledgeable, friendly, approachable, and informative. She gave us the history as well as a breakdown of how the whiskey is made. We got to walk around the distillery and see each part of the process. The dogs were allowed on the tour with us.
After the tour, we had 2 of their own brands to try. I took mine home as I was the designated driver, and mine was given in a little bag with two shots to take home. My husband had his during the tour with everyone , and he thoroughly enjoyed being a Whiskey fan!
We purchased two bottles to take home with us.
We were also asked if our dogs could have a photo to add to the doggy wall of fame. We are very pleased they are on the wall!
The toilets were clean and tidy. Free to use.
Plenty of parking.
Clean environment.
Can't miss as a Scottish dig statue outside.
Honestly, it was a highlight of our holiday! Thank you to all the staff, especially when our dogs barked loudly!!
We recently went for a tour round the distillery, during the tour my sister fell ill and the staff couldn’t be more helpful.
We also had a fantastic tour guide (Donald) who was very passionate about whiskey and had great knowledge of the local history.
Thanks again Donald and crew for the great visit ! :)
Very interesting tour. Good tasting whisky.
Lots of history in this place. Would have loved to stay longer to get to explore the ruins.
Very good taste. Learned a lot about the water of life.
I would highly recommend this tour
PS: Tennessee Williams was born in Columbus Mississippi, and died in New York. He used Tennessee as his pen name to hide his age.
I've taken the tour twice, with a different guide each time. Dave in particular was very good, with a detailed retelling of the history and some great comic timing to boot. A new and small distillery with a whisky of mighty integrity even at this young age. Looking forward to seeing what the years bring my local whisky distillery.
Beautiful little distillery, full of history (and nice whisky)! I really enjoyed the tour and tasting... The distillery exclusive bottlings are all great despite the young age! Definitely recommend for whoever wants to visit the spiritual home of whisky. And if you're lucky, you get to meet the resident cats!
Dave our tour guide was spectacular, the whiskey was fantastic, the whole experience was great, and would definitely recommend! Was also very rich in history.
